As a 17 year old gay kid whos also longing for life first of all wtf is up with elio’s mind like the amount of me being flabbergasted because of his thoughts made me shook to the core second of all i have seen alot of video eassy about how “predatory” this story is and yes it quite is but we have to remember it was all elio’s shit to begin with yes oliver liked elio from day one but he didnt do anything until elio made the move and i mightve hust topic shifting cuz tbh idk where im going with this im just exactly writing whats inside my thoughts about this book oh and i love the book and the ending made me shed a tear likeee justtt a litttleee but still tears nonetheless but back to the problematic part me being a gay kid whos also longing for love didnt blame elio though cuz first of all its 1980s and we all know how it all went with the gays thru that year and second of all the dating range between the gays is small and we dont even know whos gay and whos not and third of all coming out is hard for me its not tho i came out when i was 13 and life is still shitty and good at the same time but my pointless point is elio being a 17 year old gay kid having a relationship with a 24 year old author is not normal per-say more like he doesnt really have a choice since probably within his age range there are no gay kids around him but there is that 24 year old bicurious dude in conclusion im just sprouting dumb shit and im on my way to read the second book
