Description
Rollo, a twelve-year-old boy, accompanies his family from London to Paris, encountering various adventures and new experiences along the way. The novel depicts his observations of and interactions with unfamiliar cultural settings during their journey through Europe in the mid-19th century. It also explores themes related to personal development and the excitement of travel, providing insights into the social and geographic landscape of the period.
Set within the genre of children's adventure literature, the narrative offers a detailed account of a family trip, highlighting the planning process, the route, and the family's dynamics. The story reflects the practices and perceptions of travel in the 1800s, serving both as entertainment and as an educational resource about European cultures and geography for young readers of that era.
