About Us
Z-PDF is a free digital library on a simple mission: to make the world's public-domain and openly licensed literature easy to find, pleasant to read, and free to download for everyone.
What we do
We gather classic and openly licensed books from trusted sources, including Project Gutenberg and Standard Ebooks, and organise them into a clean, searchable catalogue. Every title is sorted by author, category, and series, enriched with cover art and descriptions, and offered in convenient reading and download formats. Our goal is to remove the friction between a curious reader and a great book.
Why we built it
Thousands of remarkable works have entered the public domain and belong to all of us, yet they are often scattered across hard-to-use archives. Z-PDF brings them together in one fast, modern, mobile-friendly place, so that a student in one country and a lifelong reader in another can reach the same shelf in seconds.
How Z-PDF stays free
Running a library costs money for servers, storage, and bandwidth. We keep Z-PDF completely free to readers through a light amount of advertising and optional reader donations. We are committed to keeping ads unobtrusive and the reading experience first.
Our commitment to rights holders
We publish only works we believe to be in the public domain or made available under open licences. If you are a rights holder and believe a title has been listed in error, our Copyright and DMCA process makes it easy to request removal.
Get in touch
We love hearing from readers. Suggestions, corrections, and requests for missing titles all help the library grow. Reach us any time at contact@z-pdf.com or through our contact page.
