Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Z-PDF ("we", "us", "our"), operator of z-pdf.com (the "Site"), collects, uses, and protects information when you visit or use our free digital library. By using the Site you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who we are

Z-PDF is a free online library offering public-domain and openly licensed e-books for reading and download. You can contact us at any time at contact@z-pdf.com.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide. If you create an account, submit a book, post a review, request a title, or contact us, we collect the information you choose to give us, such as your name, email address, and the content of your message. Passwords are stored in hashed form and are never readable by us.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our servers automatically record standard log data when you visit: your IP address, browser type and version, device and operating system, referring pages, the pages you view, and the date and time of each request. This data helps us keep the Site secure, diagnose problems, and understand how the library is used.

Cookies and similar technologies. We and our partners use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, measure traffic, and, where applicable, serve advertising. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect Site functionality.

3. Advertising and third-party vendors

We display advertising to help keep Z-PDF free. Advertising on the Site may be provided by third-party vendors, including Google.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies, including the DoubleClick DART cookie, enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our Site and other sites on the Internet.
  • You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings at google.com/settings/ads.
  • You can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting aboutads.info/choices.

Third-party ad servers or ad networks may use cookies, JavaScript, or web beacons in the advertisements that appear on Z-PDF, and they automatically receive your IP address when this occurs. Z-PDF has no access to or control over these cookies used by third-party advertisers.

4. Analytics

We may use analytics services such as Google Analytics to understand aggregate visitor behaviour. These services set their own cookies and process usage data on our behalf. The information is used in aggregate and does not personally identify you.

5. How we use information

We use the information we collect to operate and maintain the Site, provide and improve our services, manage accounts, respond to your requests, prevent fraud and abuse, display relevant advertising, and comply with legal obligations.

6. Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers who help us run the Site, such as hosting, analytics, and advertising partners, or when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Z-PDF and its users.

7. Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. Users in the European Economic Area (GDPR) and California (CCPA) have specific rights, including the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. To exercise any right, email contact@z-pdf.com.

9. Children's privacy

Z-PDF is a general-audience library and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Links to other sites

The Site contains links to external websites, including source libraries such as Project Gutenberg and Standard Ebooks. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites and encourage you to review their policies.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page, and the "Last updated" date above will be revised accordingly.
